The 51st WACEM-ACAIM Special Global Weekly e-Summit In Partnership with WHO-CCET (SEA)

The First Closed Session meeting of the WHO collaborating Center for Emergency and Trauma (WHO-CCET) for South east Asia (SEA)was held.

In the New Normal of COVID Many new protocols, teaching methodologies and research protocols will be needed to advance Trauma and Emergency Services.

The session was held to focus on the promulgation of trauma services into the newly developing emergency departments across India.

The discussion highlighted multiple factors around education, research and patient care.

Faculty development and treatment protocols were very important when Synergy had to be maintained between emergency medicine and trauma surgery.

  Quality control was also discussed in detail.

The agenda also addressed the acceleration of pediatric emergency and trauma services at academic hospitals in India.

A synergy between pediatric surgery. pediatric neurosurgery, pediatric orthopedic surgery as well as pediatrics was needed to develop the services across academic hospitals in India.

It was emphasized that there was a need for creating a framework for surgical trauma, orthopedic trauma, vascular trauma, neurosurgical trauma, both in adults and pediatrics
