The Grand Finale of the Global e-Congress
on Simulation Education in Medicine during the COVID-19 pandemic was a
magnanimous event with educators from all around the world convening virtually
into the WACEM Virtual Conference hall.
The session was well received by Simulation
experts and exemplary educators from the United States, United Kingdom, India,
Israel, Qatar, Singapore, Malaysia and other member countries of the World
Academic Council of Emergency Medicine.
The finale comprised of the India session following
up on sessions by experts from Singapore, US and New Zealand serially over the
past 3 weeks.
The Global e-Congress COVISIM2021 was been
conceived by WACEM in collaboration with the WHO- CCET, ACAIM, AIIMS, EMA
India, ACEE India all affiliated with INDUSEM.
The stellar finale invited the best of
speakers from 2 of the premier Simulation Centres with established academic
Emergency Medicine Departments in India- Kasturba Medical College, Manipal,
Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Manipal and D Y Patil University,
Mumbai.
The Simulation Division from KMC Manipal, (SIMians)
comprised of Dr. Vimal Krishnan, Dr. Sanjan A, Dr. Freston Sirur and Dr.
Jayaraj Balakrishnan.
Dr. Ajit Baviskar was the SIM- Educator
expert from D Y Patil Mumbai.
The sessions were unique and ranged from
the basic tenet of Simulation designing for SIMeducator, POCUS in Simulation,
InSituSim, Biosafety innovations and Simulation.
The sessions invoked cerebral discussions
between the experts and plans for international collaboration under the WACEM-GloSIM
Network.
